Welcome Message

Welcome to the 6th Singapore Public Health and Occupational Medicine Conference. We have selected as the theme for the conference, “Innovations in Public Health and Occupational Medicine - The Next Frontier”, to challenge ourselves and the larger public health and occupational medicine community with the conundrum of enabling wider access to higher quality health services at a cost individuals and society can afford. Only by being truly innovative can we reconcile these often conflicting objectives.

We have lined up an exciting program with over a dozen international speakers who will share with us leading edge insights on a plethora of issues ranging from the use of new media in public health, innovative health financing models, well-being and mental health promotion, workplace wellness and many others.

Our host of distinguished guests include Prof Paul Glasziou, currently Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine in the department of Primary Care at Bond University and the University of Oxford, Dr S Aravind from the world-renowned Aravind Eye Care System (Lighting up Lives Through Reverse Innovation), Dr Kurt Hegmann, Chair of the American Board of Preventive Medicine who will speak on preventive medicine education and many others.

Innovation is a multi-disciplinary effort that requires new partnerships and even newer mental models. This year's conference brings together an unprecedented number of international and local expert faculty members across a diverse array of disciplines to deliver a wide array of workshops, discussions and symposia.

I look forward to meeting you at the conference in Singapore, and hope that this conference will increase your knowledge and stir your appetite for innovation.
